Many of them were visibly tired even before the LP started. If only they had placed it a day apart, that could have given them enough time to rest before. Yuzuru looked like he was already really tired and the nerves and pressure from his SP's result most definitely didn't help.

Now that I think about it, the first day for the SP, he looked like he skated because he wanted to skate-> to try his best and just give it his all. The second day it was more like, well now I need to do really well to get the gold. Day 1: wasn't thinking about gold medal or the end result, he was just trying to do his best.. Day 2: he started to think about gold :( Its like my teacher always says: "Focus on doing your best and the results will automatically follow"

After this worlds I am really hoping to see a different SP. Yuzuru definitely milked out as much as he could out PW. Hopefully we'll also see a LP that suits him..

Thing is though, that as long as P.W is his SP, Yuzuru won't be beat. I wonder how he will score in Worlds for the Men's Shorts!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01644473673883181054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382436146860017151.post-74658570175539668632014-03-07T23:22:19.557-05:002014-03-07T23:22:19.557-05:00I am not a skating expert but I love your comment/...I am not a skating expert but I love your comment/blog on the olympic events. I am going to Japan next month to see Takahashi perform possibly for the last time only because I know we will never have a skater like him again. It's possible that men will improve their capabilities further in the coming years and manage to show technical perfection and music interpretation both, but I'm not positive right now. In a pessimistic moment I think, when a skater like Takahashi goes, my love for figure skating goes as well...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382436146860017151.post-90890991263524372002014-02-18T23:08:07.395-05:002014-02-18T23:08:07.395-05:00Yuzuru also simulated stabbing himself at the end ...Yuzuru also simulated stabbing himself at the end of his 2011-2012 R & J LP so David Wilson is not the only figure skating choreographer who has misread Shakespeare's play. Having the sport move forward is a good thing, but the obsession with quads in the men's is not so great. Look at Plushenko, who is now riddled with injuries. Yagudin had to leave the sport due to injuries. Maybe only allow one quad per program (short and long) and loosen up the point grabbing so that the skaters can spend more time interpreting the music.

All I know is that I enjoyed Evan's quadless clean skate from Vancouver more than I did the falls and exhausted looks on the medalists' faces here in Sochi.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382436146860017151.post-75296534132288511232014-02-17T10:47:51.913-05:002014-02-17T10:47:51.913-05:00why does he pretend to stab himself in the choreo ...why does he pretend to stab himself in the choreo step?
