For example, compare Alexei Yagudin in 1997 to Alexei Yagudin in 2002. Or early Shen/Zhao vs. late career Shen/Zhao. For Ms. Miyahara, I think the program makes all the difference: Un Sospiro/Lori Nichol did her no favors and was a clear step backwards. Ms. Miyahara should be fine if she sticks to Tom Dickson for choreography.

I've really enjoyed Mao Asada's new programs! Her Bach exhibition is wonderful--I love it when skaters display skills not normally seen in competition during their exhibition programs.morozombiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03845235378987931329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382436146860017151.post-77960164143258568522016-09-04T09:14:53.568-04:002016-09-04T09:14:53.568-04:00So glad to see you back! I feel the issue with Satoko is that she lacks natural charisma. On the other hand, Shoma has it in spades; you can see it even from a screen. I'm not sure how much change she can change that since charisma is usually someone you have or you don't. However, she can work on her jumps. Bigger jumps could help her a lot. It helped Ando become world champion twice.

What do you think of Mao's new programs? I really liked her exhibition; it was very interesting. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
