I don't know why, but I have been obsessing over this program by Japanese young'un Yuzuru Hanyu. Is it that beautifully effortless triple axel sequence? Is it the seemingly improved glide and basic skating displayed by Mr. Hanyu? Or could it perhaps be some lingering latent Johnny Weir nostalgia?
But it does not matter. The cold clarity of day may yield better results for a proper post facto dissection of this (bit of a) program, but for now, it is evening and the planets have aligned at least for this one instance. For tonight, all that is necessary to know is that I am completely enthralled.
